Four reasons why your home decor doesn’t work

If in doubt – my favorite. I always do it! You can add a black item to your decor, be it a vase, a candle, or the pot. Even a chair that is black. Recently, I added a dark coffee table to my living room because I didn’t like the lighter colors. It always felt like it was floating. Black ground the space instantly.

Have you ever felt that your home decor just isn’t working? Does it seem like your decor doesn’t seem to be cohesive? If you’re not sure how to bring your favourite interior design style to life, it’s time to narrow it down. Today, I’m going to share four reasons that could help you figure out the reason your design isn’t working, and put you on the road to an easier-to-follow style.

If the artwork looks too small, consider adding another. Incorporate more than one image. It doesn’t have to be identical. Odd numbers are more effective. Check out some gallery wall designs. This is the most affordable and efficient way to fill your walls.

A lot of people associate minimalism as a sign of discomfort and coldness but that’s far from the reality. In fact, there’s a warmer take on minimal interior design (warm minimalism) that is filled with no-fuss elegant, simple design.

Whatever colour scheme you’ve decided to go with you should consider adding a touch of elegance to your home with gorgeous white woodwork. This interior design is an excellent contrast to brightly colored wall and dark wood flooring. It also adds a traditional aesthetic to your interior while making your home interiors look fresh and elegant.

We are all aware that painting walls can be a quick and quick method of changing the appearance of a room. However, a single wall of a feature or using dark colors often makes your room feel smaller. I think we have every experienced, or know someone who has been through a dark painting disaster. I know I have!

My trick for getting it just right is to paint the wall three quarters, or at least half its height. Ceilings will appear higher, making the room seem larger. It will also save you money on paint, too! With this approach, feel free to explore deeper and more intense colors and then apply a lighter color on the ceiling in order to allow the room to feel spacious and bright. The bedroom is below. I used a dark green color to create a cosy and cozy feel. This green is lush, but the space feels open and airy due to the fact that I painted it at half-height. The full effect is evident in the Before and After Reel.

Buy a variety sizes – don’t buy squares or rectangles. Mix them on your couch. Also, add a round one. If you’re having trouble with the best place to place your cushions, then turn your thoughts to shapes and then it will all come together, I promise!

After cleaning then it’s time for the fun part: choosing new pillows! They’re not expensive and can be replaced regularly to keep your sofa looking good. Choose an appropriate throw for your new pillows. The throw blanket should be folded into an attractive rectangle, then drape it over an arm to create a layered chic look. Cushions and throws can be a simple way to add color texture, or pattern to your sofa or armchair. They’re also fairly inexpensive and can be found them at any of the home furnishings shops. It’s great to change the colors of your home seasonally. This keeps my house looking fresh and new.

One bouquet of flowers or a vase filled with cut flowers from the garden. This is a great way to make a statement on a console. Add a few greenery pieces and water to a clear vase and you will instantly have something fresh on your table.

You’ve decorated the space to your heart’s content but you’re not done. Finding the final piece of the puzzle can be a gruelling and painful experience (if you’re the kind of person who likes everything to be perfect!). I’m always re-designing rooms and getting lost in how to make them look perfect. Boo! Many people are embracing the organic minimalist trend and would like to upgrade their interiors with stylish wood paneling. One of my recent clients was a tenant who could not paint. Even if they were allowed to create a wood-paneled wall it would have been way over budget. But, I found a nifty cheat! I came across a peel and stick wallpaper that had a wood panel pattern printed on it. It was awe-inspiring when I hung this behind the bed of my client. It instantly brought texture, warmth and enhanced the look of the room. Vertical lines also created a look that was twice as high. Click here to view my IG Reel. It took me about 3 hours to put in the peel and stick wallpaper. It cost around two hundred dollars. When you move or want to change the look of your wall, simply peel off the wallpaper. It is always a good idea to examine your wall and follow the recommendations of the maker carefully.
